Continuing from here -

Years had passed since the little chat on Christmas Eve. Girlie had long moved to her new home and taken over the herd of carnivorous Scottish Kelpies living in the woods near IVS.
One fine winter afternoon, she had left her mares alone in the depths of the forest and wandered out on a wide open snow field to see if she might be able to find something to eat there.

It didn't take long for her to hear a stallion's call. Lifting her head she spotted horse and rider in the distance. To her surprise the stallion turned out to be another european kelpie, which made her quite curious, since she had always assumed she was the only living here.
Twitching her ears, she soon found to her great relief that it was her friend, Hugh, riding the stallion. He was the only human she trusted and whom she would allow near her, so with it being just him riding the other kelpie, she dared to approach the pair to satisfy her curiosity about that stranger stallion.

"Auntie Girlie!", the stallion greeted delightedly, when Girlie was near, the mare stopping a tad startled in her tracks.
"Ohmai! Blondie? Is that you?", she said and trotted the last couple of steps, followed by a happy snort as they touched noses. The rider had long noticed the two knew each other and given the stallion the reigns, so they could have a little chat on their own, him waiting patiently.

"How you have grown! You have become such a handsome stallion, dearest colt! Oh, what am I saying, you are far from being a colt now!", Girlie told.
"Aw, Auntie, all colts become stallions some day.", Blondie returned a tad flattered, Girlie just chuckled.
"But you have become an extraordinary handsome one.", she teased a bit, laughing at the embarrassment of the young stallion, who just said,
"Auntieee . . ."

"But what do I see? Rider, bridle and saddle? So you have made your wish come true?", she then asked.
"Oh, yes!", Blondie snorted happily, "When I was a yearling I left my dam, she was very heartbroken, but I said I needed to go and so she let me. I went to search for the humans and found them. They were just as kind and great friends as I imagined. Their leader was half a wolf and she taught me about how to wear a saddle and carry a rider and all. I first was meant to stay with them, but she said I needed more time than they could offer and so she looked for a new home for me. I met some other great and fun humans, but in the end I was brought to stay with these humans and they are great. They show and teach me so much and groom me and feed me treats and the other horses are from everywhere too and know the best of stories.", Blondie told excitedly.

Girlie laughed motherly at the young stallion's tales,
"That's wonderful to hear, my love. I also know your rider, he's a kind human, you will sure like it at his place."
"Yes, I do!", Blondie nodded,
"I gotta go now, though. Don't want to let him wait for too long. I'll sure be seeing you, Auntie Girlie."
"Yes, definitely. You are always welcome to visit.", she smiled.

With that the stallion and rider turned and left again. Also Girlie went off, her heart feeling warm and relieved. She wasn't just glad to having met Blondie again, but also to see he had managed to make his Christmas wish come true.
